A 2-year-old girl from Winlock received minor injuries Friday night after reportedly being struck by a car in a driveway, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at 11:26 p.m. Friday to the 100 block of Amber Lane in Winlock.

A 28-year-old male family member reported he was leaving the property when he backed up his vehicle and hit something. He discovered it to be the 2-year-old girl.

The man told deputies he thought the girl was inside the house, but said she must have followed an older child outside.

The child was transported to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma and was later released with minor injuries including cuts and bruises, according to the sheriff’s office.

No enforcement action is pending against the driver.
