Woman Accused of Arson After Fire at Her Centralia Home

A warrant was issued Tuesday in Lewis County Superior Court for a woman accused of arson after a November 2017 fire at her mobile home in Centralia.

Katelyn C. Coburn, 24, of Centralia, failed to appear for her first scheduled court hearing.

The Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office filed one charge of first-degree arson late last year against Coburn. She was sent a summons and scheduled to make her first appearance in the charge Tuesday afternoon.

According to court documents, fire crews responded on Nov. 21 to a report of a mobile home on fire in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia.

“When we arrived, the trailer was billowing smoke,” according to court documents.

The fire spread to nearby trees but did not damage any other homes.

Coburn, the only occupant, was treated at Providence Centralia Hospital for smoke inhalation.

She reportedly told investigators she started the fire in an attempt to commit suicide but changed her mind, fearing for nearby residents, then called 911.
