A judge issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for a Chehalis man who failed to appear for a preliminary hearing on an assault charge.
Lewis County Superior Court Judge Joely O’Rourke issued a no-bail warrant Tuesday afternoon for Landon J. Wilson, 28, who is being charged by the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office with second-degree assault in an incident that occurred Sept. 10.
According to court documents, deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded at 8:46 a.m. that day to a report of an assault in the 100 block of Dieckman Road in Chehalis.
Deputies met with the alleged victim, a woman with a cut across the bridge of her nose and blood on her face. She reported she and Wilson had a fight about him going to a bachelor party.
The morning after the party, Wilson reportedly returned to the couple’s home, ripped down drapes, then head-butted her.
Deputies tracked Wilson to a second residence and learned he fled the area on an all-terrain vehicle. He was later arrested and questioned but not immediately charged. He was then sent a summons to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
A doctor reported the victim sustained a nasal bone fracture.
