Two Level 3 sex offenders have recently registered as transients in Lewis County, according to a news release from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Brian L. Kim, 47, is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2001 conviction in Thurston County Superior Court for second-degree rape.
Kim allegedly met his victim, a developmentally delayed male he didn’t know, at a bus stop in Lewis County and offered to give him a ride. Kim then reportedly drove the victim to his home in Thurston County and sexually assaulted him.
Kim then took the victim to his intended destination and told him not to tell anyone about the incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Kim was convicted and sentenced to eight and a half years in prison.
Kim recently moved from Thurston to Lewis County and is homeless, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
He is described as a white man standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair.
The second level 3 sex offender, Michael A. Gonzales-Fox, 26, previously had stable housing in Chehalis but is now homeless in Lewis County.
He is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2006 conviction in Thurston County Juvenile Court for three counts of first-degree child molestation.
He was convicted of having sexual contact with an 8-year-old girl when he was 14 years old and was sentenced to 52 to 65 weeks in custody.
In 2011, he was convicted again of third-degree child rape.
In that case, he allegedly had sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl when he was 19.
He was sentenced to just under 5 years in prison and 36 months probation.
Gonzales-Fox is described as a white man standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.
