A Toledo man is facing a felony charge after allegedly fleeing from deputies trying to pull his vehicle over for turning without signaling.

Timothy A. Perkins, 44, made his first appearance Monday in Lewis County Superior Court on suspicion of attempting to elude a police officer.

According to court documents and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were in the 100 block of Sareault Road in Toledo after receiving complaints of speeding vehicles and suspicious circumstances.

A deputy saw a vehicle turn without signaling, and attempted to pull the vehicle over.

The driver reportedly increased in speed after the deputy turned on his lights and siren, then drove in a reckless manner and through a home’s yard, according to court documents.

The vehicle almost hit a tree before eventually coming to a stop. Perkins, identified as the driver, allegedly then exited the vehicle and fled into a garage.

When he was arrested, Perkins reportedly told the deputy he ran because he was “scared.”
