A 16-year-old girl reported a male suspect tried to pull her into his vehicle and rape her Tuesday night near sports fields at Fort Borst Park, according to the Centralia Police Department.
The incident was reported at 8 p.m., but occurred at about 6:45 p.m., Officer William Phipps told The Chronicle
The teen reported she was walking near the intersection of Pioneer Way and Mt. Vista Road in Centralia when a man in a black 1990s- model Nissan sedan started following her.
The male suspect then allegedly grabbed the girl and pulled her into his car while trying to pull her pants off.
The girl did not know the suspect, Phipps said.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s wearing a black beanie and a dark hoodie.
Phipps said officers are continuing to investigate the report and are working on determining if any security cameras in the area captured the incident.
