The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious vehicle fire reported early Saturday in Pe Ell.
The fire was reported at 5:20 a.m. in the 900 block of Muller Road in Pe Ell.
According to the sheriff’s office, the property owner was storing a 2007 Dodge Caliber valued at $3,000 for a former area resident who recently moved to Kansas. The vehicle hadn’t been driven in two years and did not have a functional battery.
The property owner reported hearing a bang and finding the vehicle on fire.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office responded at 6:26 a.m. and Saturday and began an investigation that is ongoing.
