State Patrol Seeks Witnesses in Fatal Crash North of Centralia

The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses to a fatal crash Sunday on Interstate 5 north of Centralia.

The crash was reported at 11:46 p.m. Saturday at milepost 86 of northbound I-5. 

At the time, a 1993 Subaru was possibly experiencing mechanical problems and was traveling slowly. It was struck by a tractor-trailer. One person in the Subaru — 80-year-old Edward Chambers, of Beaverton, Oregon — was declared dead at the scene. 

Investigators with the WSP are looking for witnesses to the collision or the events leading up to it.
