Sirens: Jail Inmates Found With Meth, Heroin in Cells; Suspect Floods Building

Thefts

• At 9:31 a.m. on Friday, a bluetooth speaker was reported stolen in the 100 block of South Silver Street in the past two weeks. The case is under investigation. 

• At 10:09 a.m. on Friday, a blanket was reported stolen by a male suspect in the 1300 block of Lum Road. 

• At 6:59 p.m. on Monday, jeans were reported stolen by a business in the 1500 block of Lum Road. The suspect fled before police arrived. 

Suspect Caught on Camera Stealing Tip Jar

• At 4:37 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a theft of a tip jar at a business in the 1600 block of South Gold Street. The theft took place Wednesday. The suspect was caught on surveillance video and an investigation is ongoing. 

Gun Stolen from Vehicle

• At 7:16 p.m. on Friday, a gun was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Genge Street. The case is under investigation. 

Man Cited for Trespassing, Urinating in Public

• At 8:11 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a trespasser in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and cited Randy W. Hausinger, 55, a transient, on suspicion of second-degree trespass. Hausinger was issued another infraction at 8:52 p.m. in the 2000 block of Cooks Hill Road for allegedly urinating in public. 

Women Booked on Assault Charges

• At 11:06 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 2900 block of Mt. Vista Road. Michelle L. Betts, 48, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

• At 1:04 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 100 block of South Tower Avenue and cited Ashley A. Roller, 22, of Onalaska, on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. She allegedly assaulted a business’s employee.

Trespassers Reported

• At 8:27 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 300 block of North Pearl Street and arrested Victor E. Sands, 33, of Edmonds, on suspicion of second-degree trespass. 

• At 3:08 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a trespasser in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. 

• At 5:29 p.m. on Monday, a trespasser was reported in the 100 block of South Silver Street. Kelly A. Holen, 33, a transient, was cited on suspicion of criminal trespass. 

Neon Signs Damaged

• At 11:58 a.m. on Friday, police responded to the 700 block of H Street in Centralia for a report of malicious mischief. Two neon signs were damaged. 

Vehicle Taken in Burglary

• At 5:29 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a burglary in the 1000 block of Elm Street in which items including a vehicle were stolen. The case is under investigation. 

Two Booked on Drug Charges

• At 6:13 p.m. on Friday, police responded to the 100 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested two men on warrants and drug charges. Joseph D. Whitney-House, 18, a transient from Centralia, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant, and on suspicion of identity theft and possession of a controlled substance. Steven D. Couch, 32, a transient from Centralia, was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and on suspicion of possession of heroin. 

Vodka Stolen

• At 7:17 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of shoplifters stealing vodka in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. 

Public Urination Reported

• At 3:06 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 900 block of South Scheuber Road and cited Matthew Eastman, 33, a transient, on suspicion of urinating in public. 

Vehicle Stolen, Recovered

• At 12:02 p.m. on Sunday, a Honda Civic was reported stolen the previous night in the 2600 block of Cooks Hill Road. The vehicle was later found undamaged.

Computers Taken in Burglary

• At 4:16 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a burglary in the 1000 block of J Street. Computers were stolen. 

Assault Under Investigation

• At 4:18 p.m. on Sunday, an assault involving multiple suspects was reported in the 300 block of Lowe Street. The case is under investigation. 

Hit and Runs

• At 9:08 p.m. on Sunday, a hit and run was reported at the intersection of First Street and Harrison Avenue. Police received a report of a vehicle backing into another vehicle, then leaving the scene. 

• At 10:35 a.m. on Monday, a hit and run was reported in the 800 block of West Pine Street. A motorcyclist reportedly struck a parked vehicle, breaking its mirror, before fleeing the scene.

Assault Reported Between Juveniles

• At 8:57 a.m. on Monday, an assault was reported between juveniles in the 900 block of Johnson Road. No arrests were made. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 9:03 a.m. on Monday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue. Power tools were stolen. 

Graffiti Reported

• At 9:37 a.m. on Monday, graffiti was reported on a building in the 500 block of North Tower Avenue. 

• At 9:59 a.m. on Monday, graffiti was reported on a building in the 500 block of North Pearl Street.

Suspect Floods Building

• At 10:13 a.m. on Monday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 700 block of H Street. An unknown suspect reportedly purposely turned on water, letting it flood multiple floors of a building. 

House, Garage Egged

• At 1:39 p.m. on Monday, a resident in the 1300 block of Kullen Avenue reported his residence and garage were egged. 

Burglary Reported to Storage Shed

• At 6:59 p.m. on Monday, a burglary was reported to a storage shed in the 2900 block of Mt. Vista Road. 

Suspect Booked on Drug Charge

• At 1:26 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the 500 block of Harrison Avenue and arrested Armondo A. De. Real, 25, of Centralia, on suspicion of possession of a drug without a prescription. 

Chehalis Police Department

Trespassers Reported

• At 9:04 a.m. on Friday, a trespasser was reported sleeping in a carport in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court. No arrests were reported.

• At 2:29 p.m. on Friday, a trespasser was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Harassment by Text, Social Media Messages Reported

• At 9:39 a.m. on Friday, police received a report of harassment by text message from the 300 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue. A person reported receiving threatening messages. 

• At 9:08 p.m. on Sunday, police received a report of harassment by social media in the 100 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue. 

Hit and Run

• At 12:31 p.m. on Friday, a hit and run was reported at the intersection of Second Street and Market Boulevard. 

Thefts Reported

• At 2:09 p.m. on Friday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street. No arrests were made.

• At 4:36 p.m. on Saturday, a third-degree theft was reported in the 1300 block of Northwest State Avenue. 

• At 5:13 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Jennifer L. Willits, 44, of Napavine, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly taking $125.79 in merchandise.

• At 7:08 p.m. on Sunday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Teen Breaks Store’s Window, Steals Tea and Sunglasses

• At 7:52 a.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a report of a burglary the previous night at a grocery store in the 8100 block of U.S. Highway 12 in Glenoma. A window was shattered and miscellaneous items including a can of tea and sunglasses were stolen. Deputies investigated and plan to refer a 17-year-old Glenoma resident to Lewis County Juvenile Court for charges. The teen was caught on surveillance video breaking the store’s window with a brick then looking at magazines before taking items, according to the sheriff’s office.

Suspect Arrested After Truck Stolen

• At 11 a.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a report of a possible trespasser in the 300 block of Hawkins Road in Winlock. A property owner reported an unfamiliar truck on his property. Deputies learned the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the week from a towing company in Winlock. A suspect, identified as Curtis L. Pappan, 46, of Winlock, was arrested on suspicion of possession of the stolen vehicle, identified as a 1994 Ford F-150.

Jail Inmates Found With Meth, Heroin

• At 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the jail after receiving a report of inmates found with suspected drugs during searches of their cells. Carly R. Holmes, 38, of Chehalis, was booked on a new charge of possession of methamphetamine and Danielle M. Toft, 24, of Chehalis, was booked on a new charge of possession of heroin. 

Water Heater, Air Compressor Stolen in Centralia Burglary

• At 10:19 a.m. on Saturday, deputies received a report of a burglary to a construction site in the 100 block of River Heights Road in Centralia. A tankless water heater and air compressor valued at $2,300 were taken from a home under construction between Thursday and Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Tuesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 239 inmates with 201 in general population and 38 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 155 were men and 46 were women and of WERC inmates 31 were men and seven women. A total of 34 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
