Sirens: Inmate Faces Charge for Damaging Jail Communication Kiosk; Assault of Child

Centralia Police Department

Burglar Enters Through Rear Window

• At 9:11 a.m. on Wednesday, a burglary was reported in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue in Centralia. Cash and a camera system were reported stolen. 

Check Fraud Reported

• At 10:02 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a check being altered from the 200 block of West Main Street. 

• At 6:44 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a person trying to use a check in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue in which the payee had been whited out and re-written.

Summons Issued for Assault Suspects

• At 10:56 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of fourth-degree assault in the 2800 block of Russell Road. They requested a summons be sent to the suspect.

• At 3:02 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a domestic-violence assault in the 1000 block of Marion Street. They requested a summons be sent to the suspect.

Car Stolen

• At 1:43 p.m. on Wednesday, a 1998 Nissan 200SX was reported stolen in the 2400 block of Borst Avenue. 

Graffiti

• On Wednesday, graffiti was reported on a garage in the 400 block of West Center Street. The time the incident was reported was not available.

Shoplifter Reported

• At 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

Assault of Child Under Investigation

• At 9:08 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of an assault in the 2800 block of Russell Road. Two males — a juvenile and an adult — were accused of assaulting a 14-year-old. The victim had minor injuries. An investigation is ongoing. 

Chehalis Police Department

Trespassers Reported

• At 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of people trespassing in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were reported.

• At 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of people trespassing in a garage in the 800 block of Southwest William Avenue. 

• At 8:38 p.m. on Wednesday, a trespasser was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue.

• At 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a trespasser in the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue. 

Assaults Reported at Green Hill School

• At 9:48 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a custodial assault at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street. A 17-year-old inmate is being referred for a juvenile court charge of custodial assault. 

• At 9:23 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report of an assault in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street at Green Hill School.

• Aaron D. Diamond, 18, of Chehalis, was referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for charges of third-degree assault and harassment — threat to kill.

Accused Shoplifters Cited

• At 11:44 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Chelsie L. Williams, 26, of Rochester, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft. 

• At 2 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Jason R. Wilkowski, 41, a transient, was cited on suspicion of third-degree theft.

Scam Reported

• At 1:56 p.m. on Wednesday, a person in the 300 block of Southeast Hillsdale Lane in Chehalis reported a scam phone call. A person told him he won $2 million dollars, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

Harassment

• At 11 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a man harassing a woman near the intersection of Market Boulevard and First Street. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

Inmate Faces Charge for Damaging Jail Communication Kiosk

• At 9 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the Lewis County Jail after receiving a report that an inmate intentionally damaged a jail communication kiosk valued at $1,500. The suspect, Jevon J. M. Sykes, 21, of Auburn, was reported caught on video surveillance damaging the kiosk. He was booked on an additional charge of second-degree malicious mischief.

Lewis County Jail

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 214 inmates with 183 in general population and 31 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 148 were male and 35 were female and of WERC inmates, 28 were male and three female. A total of 24 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
