Sirens: Eggs Thrown at Bicyclist From SUV; Woman Arrested for Meth After Medics Respond

Centralia Police Department

Minor Injuries Reported in Collision

• At 9:21 a.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a collision in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. One person had minor injuries and was treated at the scene. An infraction was issued to the causing driver.

Boy Faces Charges for Punches to Fellow Student, School Staff

• At 11:16 a.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of an assault in the 800 block of Field Avenue. An 11-year-old boy is being referred to juvenile court on suspicion of two counts of fourth-degree assault for allegedly punching another student and a faculty member.

Shoplifters Reported

• At 12:06 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a man shoplifting deli food items in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the suspect, described as a man in his 20s. 

• At 5:33 p.m. on Saturday, a woman reportedly stole items from the 1300 block of Lum Road. No arrests were made.

• At 7:04 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a woman stealing two purses from a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road. 

Man Seen Kicking Vehicle

• At 3:29 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of malicious mischief to a vehicle in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue. A man wearing all black clothing was seen kicking a parked vehicle. A suspect has been identified but not yet arrested. 

Antique Woodstove Stolen in Burglary

• At 4:02 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a burglary to a shed in the 2900 block of Borst Avenue. A 1900s-era Sears woodstove was reported stolen. 

Suspect Violates Protection Order, Commits Burglary

• At 6:22 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a burglary in which the suspect violated a protection order in the 500 block of Yew Street. No arrests were made. 

Vehicles Stolen

• At 8:19 a.m. on Saturday, a copper-colored 2008 Harley Davidson Ultra Glide motorcycle was reported stolen overnight in the 700 block of Tower Avenue. 

• At 9:57 a.m. on Saturday a 1948 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe was reported stolen in the 200 block of South Tower Avenue. 

Vehicle Prowl

• At 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, clothing, keys and paperwork were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of Jefferson Street. 

DUIs

• At 4:58 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the intersection of Center and Pearl streets and arrested Aaron C. Ettner, 32, a transient, on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

• At 1:46 a.m. on Sunday, police arrested Amanda J. Masters, 31, of Centralia, in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue on suspicion of DUI. 

Hit and Run

• At 8:44 p.m. on Saturday, a hit and run was reported in the 300 block of South Iron Street. A parked vehicle was damaged. 

Light Bar Stolen from Vehicle

• At 6:18 p.m. on Sunday, an LED light bar was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of South Silver Street.

Burglary Reported at Unoccupied Residence  

• At 3:08 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of a burglary at an unoccupied residence in the 400 lock of South King Street. 

Olympia Woman Arrested for Forgery, Assault

• At 7:10 p.m. on Monday, police responded to the 1000 block of Eckerson Road and arrested Jessica M. Resto, 39, of Olympia, on suspicion of forgery and referred her to prosecutors on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

Chehalis Police Department

Shoplifter Reported

• At 1:23 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard. No arrests were made.

Accused Shoplifters Booked on Drug Charges

• At 5:45 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested a 17-year-old juvenile on suspicion of third-degree theft and possession of methamphetamine. The teen was accused of stealing a pack of lighters. 

• At 1:07 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A person reportedly stole $29.88 in merchandise. Robert J. Simkins, 36, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft and possession of methamphetamine. 

Counterfeit Cash Reported

• At 7:26 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of counterfeit cash in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

Trespasser Reported Drinking Alcohol in Front of Business

• At 7:54 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a woman drinking in front of a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No arrests were reported.

SUV Passengers Throw Eggs at Bicyclist

• At 8:55 p.m. on Friday, a person reported their daughter was biking in the 2500 block of North National Avenue and an SUV with dark windows started following her. Passengers reportedly threw eggs at the girl.

Accused Shoplifter Takes Boots

• At 9:27 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1700 block of North National Avenue. The suspect reportedly fled the scene. Centralia police later caught up with the suspect and Chehalis officers arrested Mateo Gonzalez-Esteban, 29, of Centralia on suspicion of third-degree theft. He was accused of stealing boots valued at $199.94.

Hit and Run

• At 10:27 a.m. on Saturday, a hit and run was reported at the intersection of Kresky Avenue and North National Boulevard. 

Woman Arrested on Meth Charge After Medics Respond

• At 9:53 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue to assist medics on an aid call. During an interaction with a person there, police found the person to be in possession of a bag of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Christina R. Montgomery, 31, of Olympia, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.

Harassment Reported on Social Media

• At 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of harassment on social media from the 1500 block of North National Avenue. 

Window Broken with Rock

• At 10:08 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 500 block of South William Avenue. A person reported someone threw a rock through a window.

Car Damaged in Malicious Mischief

• At 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of malicious mischief from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. A car’s hood was damaged. 

Theft Suspects Arrested

• At 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and arrested Mary J. Quinn, 32, of Burien, on suspicion of third-degree theft. She was accused of taking $21.32 in merchandise.

• At 11:34 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a shoplifter in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. Kimberly A. Thomas, 28, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft for allegedly taking $25 in merchandise.

Man Booked on Assault Charge

• At 4:03 a.m. on Monday, police responded to the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue and arrested James A. Nix, 51, of Centralia on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

DUIs

• At 5:12 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to the 1100 block of Reynolds Avenue to a report of a collision. Driver Bernie James Madison, 43, of Oakville was arrested on suspicion of DUI. According to the sheriff’s office, he pulled out in front of another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, a 19-year-old Centralia male, was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with minor injuries. 

• At 12:12 a.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the 3500 block of Jackson Highway and arrested Trevor M. Graves, 29, of Chehalis, on suspicion of DUI and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock. 

• At 2 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 300 block of Jordan Road in Winlock. Lance John Clark, 56, of Glenoma, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock after a traffic stop. 

• At 12:05 a.m. on Sunday, deputies responded to the 3500 block of Jackson Highway and arrested Shane Allen Thompson, 24, of Centralia, on suspicion of DUI. 

• At 5 p.m. on Monday, deputies received a report of a DUI collision in the 500 block of Gish Road in Onalaska. James L. Cheney, 20, of Silver Creek, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and minor in possession. 

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Tuesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total population of 202 inmates with 173 in general population and 29 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 138 were men and 35 women and of WERC inmates, 26 were men and 3 women. A total of 40 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
