Centralia Police Department

Theft Discovered on Security Footage

• At 7:49 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a theft in the 1200 block of Mellen Street. The theft was discovered on security video.

Pressure Washer Part Stolen

• At 10:38 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a theft of an attachment for a pressure washer being stolen in the 900 block of North Pearl Street.

Hit and Run

• At 11:16 a.m. on Wednesday, a hit and run was reported at the intersection of Pearl and Walnut streets. The fleeing vehicle is described as a Chevrolet Silverado with a silver canopy.

Vehicles Damaged in Malicious Mischief

• At 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a vehicle’s hood being damaged overnight in the 700 block of F Street.

• At 7:33 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report of damage to a truck overnight in the 400 block of South Pearl street. A window was broken.

• At 10:35 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a van being keyed and dented overnight in the 300 block of North Gold Street.

Teens Caught in Private Pool

• At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of teens trespassing in the private swimming pool in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road. The teens were trespassed from the property.

Bicyclist Hit by Car

• At 11:59 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a collision between a car and a person on a bicycle at the intersection of King and Main streets. The bicyclist reportedly rode off a curb in front of a car and was hit. The rider sustained a “moderate” injury, according to the Centralia Police Department.

Vehicle Egged, Window Broken

• At 1:02 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a window broken on a vehicle and people “egging” items in the area of the 700 block of F Street.

Centralia Man Referred for Alleged Tablet, Speaker Theft

• At 8:13 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 1000 block of L Street and contacted a man who they reportedly found to be in possession of a tablet and bluetooth speaker that had been stolen in a vehicle prowl. The 35-year-old Centralia man was referred to prosecutors on suspicion of second-degree theft, but was not arrested.

Vehicle Prowls

• At 12:02 a.m. on Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 2200 block of Eureka Avenue. Car speakers were reported stolen overnight.

• At 7:59 a.m. on Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of Virginia Drive. Nothing was taken.

•At 8:16 a.m. on Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1500 block of Lewis Street. A wallet was stolen and a debit card from the wallet was later used at a local restaurant.

• At 8:32 a.m. on Thursday, a vehicle prowl was reported in the 1400 block of West Main Street. Cologne was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Vehicle Stolen

• At 1:14 a.m. on Thursday, a red Honda hatchback was reported stolen in the 200 block of South Diamond Street. The victim woke up to the sound of his car driving away, according to the police department. No suspects have been identified.

Resident Wakes Up to Discover Overnight Burglary

• At 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a burglary in the 2000 block of Cooks Hill Road. The victim reportedly woke up to find the home’s doors were open. An investigation is ongoing.

Shoplifters Flee Businesses After Thefts

• At 3:07 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 100 block of West High Street. A male suspect reportedly took numerous clothing items from a retail store. The incident is under investigation.

• At 3:13 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a theft of items from a business in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue by two females. An investigation is ongoing.

Gas Thefts Reported

• At 4:06 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of several gasoline thefts from company vehicles in the 1600 block of South Gold Street. No suspect has been identified.

Centralia Woman Arrested on Retail Theft, Burglary Charges

• At 5:47 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a shoplifter in the 1300 block of Lum Road. Officers responded and learned the suspect had fled to a bathroom at an area fast-food restaurant. Amanda B. Smith, 24, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and retail theft with special circumstances after reportedly being found in the bathroom with stolen merchandise.

Assault Arrests

• At 6:13 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of a domestic-violence incident in the 200 block of North Gold Street. Jonathan T. Sheetz, 24, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

• At 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of an assault in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue. Shannon M. O’Neil, 43, of Centralia, was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

Intoxicated Juveniles Arrested After Fighting in Street

• At 9:12 p.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of two juveniles fighting in the roadway in the 300 block of Spruce Street. Police responded and found that both juveniles were “extremely intoxicated.” One of the two had a felony warrant out of Lewis County Juvenile Court. The other, who allegedly assaulted his mother and sister while they were trying to keep him from fighting other people, was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention center on suspicion of intimidating a public servant. Both were medically cleared before being booked into juvenile detention due to their intoxication. Both are being referred to prosecutors on suspicion of consuming alcohol as minors.

One Cited on Trespassing Charge

• At 2:51 a.m. on Friday, police responded to a report of a trespasser near the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Main Street. Christina L. Howder, 47, of Centralia, was cited and released on suspicion of criminal trespass.

Chehalis Police Department

Disorderly Conduct Reported

• At 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of a “belligerent and racist” disorderly person at a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Window Broken

• At 1:21 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of malicious mischief in the 100 block of Southwest Sixth Street. A window was broken.

Two Arrested After Trespassing Reported at ‘Red-Tagged’ House

• At 2:49 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a trespasser at a home that had been red-tagged, or posted as no-trespassing by the city of Chehalis, in the 700 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue. Joaquin V. Parraz, 41, of Chehalis, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass. A second person, Nicholas M. Vernon, 32, also of Chehalis, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

California Woman Arrested on Assault Charges After Throwing Pop, Punch

• At 3:11 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of an assault in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. An employee of the business reported a customer became upset when she was asked for her identification to buy cigarettes, and threw a fountain drink full of pop at the employee. Another employee tried to get her license plate and she reportedly threw more pop then punched him. Ruby L. Pulley, 25, of Sacramento, California, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of second-degree theft. A man with her was arrested on a warrant.

Dogs Left in Hot Car

• At 6:47 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report of two dogs locked in a hot car in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue.

• At 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a dog locked in a vehicle in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue.

Trespassers Reported

• At 2:43 p.m. on Thursday police received a report of trespassers in the 1500 block of Rice Road.

Fraudulent Check Reported

• At 2:52 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a person attempting to cash a fraudulent check in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard.

Woman Steals Gift Cards

• At 4:24 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a woman in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way who allegedly took gift cards and attempted to use them.

Man Tries to Sell Stolen Tablet

• At 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue of a man trying to sell a tablet with a serial number that matched one reported stolen in a burglary.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office

DUIs

• At 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were doing traffic enforcement near milepost 90 of U.S. Highway 12 in Mossyrock when they stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, Roy J. Fisher, 43, of La Center, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

• At 4:46 p.m. on Thursday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of U.S. Highway 12 in Napavine due to excessive speed. The driver, identified as William E. Jackel, 56, of Madison, Wisconsin, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Lewis County Jail Statistics

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total population of 181 inmates, 158 of which were in general population and 23 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center. Of general population inmates, 124 were men and 34 were women. Of WERC inmates, 17 were men and 6 women. A total of 42 inmates were booked through contracts with agencies outside Lewis County.
