Sheriff’s Office Searches for Vehicle that Hit Bicyclist, Left Scene

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a vehicle that reportedly fled the scene after hitting and seriously injuring a bicyclist Wednesday in Winlock.

The vehicle is described as an older green SUV, similar to a Ford Explorer.

At 11:55 a.m. on Wednesday, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a car hitting a bicyclist in the 600 block of Park Road in Winlock.

Deputies arrived to find an 18-year-old male victim with a fractured leg and other unknown injuries. The SUV was not on the scene.

The victim was airlifted to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA, where he was in stable condition Thursday morning, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
