Sheriff’s Office: $52,800 in Bail Bonds Stolen in Chehalis Vehicle Prowl

A backpack full of more than $50,000 in bail bonds was reported stolen Wednesday morning after the bag was left in an unattended vehicle. 

The theft was reported at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Roberts Drive in Chehalis, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. 

The backpack, containing $52,800 in bail bonds, was taken after an unknown suspect broke the Toyota Corolla’s driver’s side window. 

The case is under investigation.
