If you’ve ever wanted your own undercover police vehicle, or worry about getting around during flood season, you may want to keep an eye on the Centralia Police Department’s latest declaration of surplus property.
On Tuesday, the Centralia City Council approved the police department’s plan to declare a mix of nine former undercover and seized vehicles, two SUVs and two military grade, triple axle trucks.
As it currently stands, city staff can find no use for any of the vehicles and plans to sell the vehicles at auction, sell them to other law enforcement agencies or trade for other undercover cars.
According to Centralia Police Chief Bob Berg, the Riverside Fire Authority and the Chehalis Fire Department have expressed interest in purchasing the military grade vehicles.
