The cause of a structure fire that seriously damaged a Centralia home Saturday evening is under investigation.
Crews were dispatched at 7:52 p.m. Saturday to the 1100 block of West Reynolds Avenue to a report of a structure fire, according to the Riverside Fire Authority.
Crews arrived to find a roof made of cedar shakes on fire. RFA crews began fighting the fire with help from the Chehalis Fire Department, Lewis County Fire District 6, and the West Thurston Fire Authority. The Centralia Police Department also responded.
The fire was out by about 11 a.m., but fire crews stayed on scene to monitor the situation and address any additional smoldering ashes.
The home is uninhabitable. Smoke detectors were present and the occupants made it out safely.
No injuries were reported.
