A Centralia driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after his vehicle rolled over on Harrison Avenue.

Alexis J. Barajas, 19, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of DUI and being a minor in possession of alcohol after the incident.

At 12:14 p.m. on Saturday, Riverside Fire Authority crews responded to a report of a rollover crash in the 3100 block of Harrison Avenue.

Crews arrived to find a four-door sedan on its side between trees. The 1998 Nissan Maxima was totaled, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the vehicle, its lone occupant, “self-extricated” from the vehicle, according to the RFA, and was transported by ambulance to Providence Centralia Hospital with minor injuries, including cuts and abrasions.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded and contacted the driver, identified as Barajas, who reportedly admitted to having consumed alcohol.

He was arrested and booked after being released from the hospital.

The Washington State Patrol also responded to the incident.
