Minor Injury Reported in Centralia Kitchen Fire

One resident was injured and several dogs were taken to the veterinarian after a kitchen fire Thursday morning in the 600 block of South Silver Street, according to the Riverside Fire Authority.

Firefighters responded just before 11 a.m. Thursday to the fire, which appears to have started on a stove in an apartment in the building, RFA Chief Mike Kytta said.

Two residents were in the apartment at the time, one of whom had minor injuries, he said.

A mother dog and puppies were also in the apartment and were taken to a vet for evaluation, Kytta said.
