Fire crews were able to extinguish a fire in a Centralia convenience store’s storage area before it spread to the rest of the building.
At 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Riverside Fire Authority crews responded to a report of a fire in the Handy Mart Convenience Store in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue.
Crews received reports of heavy smoke coming from the store. They arrived to find the building evacuated.
Crews found fire in an attached storage area and were able to contain it to that room.
All lanes of Harrison Avenue were closed for approximately 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
