Police are investigating an incident in which a man was reportedly attacked Sunday night in Centralia by unknown suspects who stole his car and later set it on fire in Pacific County.
Police received a report of the alleged robbery and carjacking at 5:23 p.m. on Sunday.
A man reported he was being tailgated by a silver passenger car. He told police he pulled to the side of the road near the intersection of Gold Street and Ham Hill Road, when one of the occupants of the second vehicle approached him.
The man reported he was struck on the head by one of the suspects when he got out of his car.
The victim fled on foot and the suspects stole his car, according to the police department.
The vehicle was recovered several hours later, on fire, in Pacific County.
The case is under investigation.
