Body Recovered In Olympia Believed to be Missing California Man

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office has recovered a body believed to belong to a California man reported missing earlier this month.

The body was recovered early Tuesday morning near Madrona Beach Road NW in Olympia. According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, the body matches the description of Maximilian Robertson, last seen in the area on July 22.

The Thurston County Coroner’s Office responded and is expected to confirm the identity of the body.

Robertson, 40, was traveling in Washington at the time of his disappearance.

Witnesses last saw him parking his van on Madrona Beach Road on July 22, then walking toward the bay. The van was impounded two days later, and on July 27, items belonging to him were found in the area.

He was officially reported missing Aug. 2.
